Why Elon Musk abandoned the X and the S. Plus other failures

Most people will not know that Elon is one of the most hated men in America. On the bright side his board still loves him, they just gave him 30 billion in share grants over the next five years, because when you already have 200 billions you need another 30.  

On the positive side, Tesla always aimed at abandoning the luxury market.  People don't understand how small it really is. The number of cars sold for more than $100,000 is remarkably small (although it is growing as the cost if US made cars grows by at least 10% per annum...and tariffs will make it worse).  The future of Tesla has to be the 3 and the Y, because they are mass market vehicles.   Tesla's current problem is its founder and CEO, sure, but also its product, which has not evolved much, and now there are many competitors -- granted the vast majority are not American..so the tariffs there may help, maybe!  Don't forget all the aluminum that is in a Tesla.

The first X and S disapeared in the UK over a year ago, now its worldwide.   Tesla's job now is to update its two models and introduce a cheaper version, that would sell for less than $40,00.0 making it cheaper than ICE vehicles. The one aspect that Tesla has to improve is the self -driving capabilities, thousands have purchased the upgrade and it's still in development and not available to clients.   Worse, if these clients sell the vehicle the "upgrade" does not move with the car...   This is the most significant, but not only promises that Elon has made over the years.   

So this ranbling post is about the ending of the S and X as a natural evolution of the company, and of Elon's big promise and small delivery, and don,t get me started about the Tesla truck, a disaster!

Trump and Venezuela...

The US now owns Venezuela…and not in a good way.  America is not known for its nation building skills, and yet it now owns the disaster that is Venezuela.   Starvation and exodus are the natural progression.   In addition it will become a haven for narco-terrorists, more so than it already was. I am sure that Trump and his friends really thought that little attack very well…I guess that he will now attack Iran now.

Demographics

 I am preparing a kind of family tree for our children so that they know where they came from.  In my family I am the only survivor, although my brother and sister died recently they were both in their seventies (a story I told already).    It was a fun process, but it provided more than that.  First, I married relatively young I was 26 when I married and nearly 30 when our first child was born.   I was looking at my ancestors.  On my mother's side, she had 6 siblings, Four died before the age of 30, two in war, and two from illnesses.  Only she and a single sister survived.   The two boys had a child each but they died in WWII, and the other sister died as an infant.   what is interesting is that every one of my mother's siblings had children in their early 20s.   I know that my mom was hardly 20 when my brother was born.    What is remarkable is that among our friends, we are the only ones to have fou...
