For most of my life, what has been done to European Jews during the second world war by the Germans resonated with one of the most despicable actions ever taken. No one in his right mind can deny the atrocities around the holocaust.
The problem arises that after almost 80 years, the nation of Israel, it’s government, and its people are in the process Of eradicating the people of Gaza. Granted, they’re not using gas chambers. It seems that mortar and bullets are their preferred tool.
80% of Israel’s seem to detest the government and its leadership in particular embodied by Benjamin, Netanyahu, but on the other side, they support the war in Gaza, the extermination of a people they do not like.
I would like to point out, that not many other people like the residence of Gaza. Egypt, that shares a border with Gaza has created a Fortified and impenetrable border. In fact, the plight of the residence of Gaza Seems to fit a narrative for most of its Co-religionist.
The problem, and it’s a big one, is that none of this matters. The truth is that Israelis are trying, and succeeding and exterminating the population of Gaza. Let’s be clear, for the past 25 years, the area has been under the control of Israel, effectively an open air prison.
Now, the Prison warden has had enough and has decided to kill the entire population. That’s the problem. The inabilities of Jews to recognize that what they are doing in Gaza is the same as a German has done to their people in western Europe.
The long-term cost of this action is almost impossible to ascertain. There is no doubt, that Israel will eventually succeed. It may take another year or two, but eventually the entire population of Gaza, almost 5,000,000 people, will have been killed. And then the likes of Trump and his buddies can build hotels...
One thing for sure, if the Jews have forgotten the lessons of the holocaust, then I too, should feel free to forget. If the people who have been the most prosecuted by the Germans during the second world war, I’ve decided to forget the lessons of history. Then why should I be different? The lesson, at the end of the day, is that there is no lesson.
many nations would have given Israel a pass in the past because of the holocaust. That time has now passed. Israel gains the mental of a normal nation, state, and relationships with those are dictated by national interest and no more. The consequence for the Jewish diaspora should not be underestimated.
so, am I antisemite? Not really, it’s just not relevant anymore. I look at the actions of Israel as any nation state, with the same obligation and rights. There is no longer the assumption that the nation of Israel has to be protected. Because the issue of the holocaust has finally been put to rest.
