Donald Trump and Secret Documents( UPDATE II)

NOTE:  Conrad Black was pardoned by then President Donald Trump, as they say:  "one finds all kinds of qualities to someone who does that"

A week ago the FBI raided Trump's Florida residence for missing documents, I thought look at that they are doing an over the "Over the top Hilary Clinton thing" that will eventually help Trump to get re-elected in 2024.  BTW I am not a fan of Trump, to me and many many others, the raid looked like over-reach by a government agency.   My thought was "on the side of the GOP" they just got election ammunitions.

Then Monday the Attorney General said he would make the search warrant public...OK, that's different, maybe the DOJ realized they screwed up and that this would reveal the FBI's anti-Trump bias.  On Tuesday it emerged that the FBI had, on a number of occasions, asked "privately" for the specific documents it found in Florida, Not good for Trump -- this was not a fishing expedition, the FBI was looking for specific documents, and found them all!  Also on Tuesday Trump demonstrated not only that he has a big mouth, but is completely unaware of reality.  Finally the "Coup de Grace" on Friday when the right-wing blogosphere (you know those who support Trump unconditionally) shut the hell up.  Total radio silence from Trump's biggest supporters.  You know that something is very rotten!

What the FBI revealed on Wednesday about the two independent searches:  (a)  the 11 documents recovered last Friday and (b) the information in the 15 boxes that were taken in January.  Some of the documents taken by the FBI in January were signal intercepts about Saudi Arabia, and that one document taken last Friday was classified: TOP Secret/SCI.  I didn't know this but these two types of documents are covered by very different laws and sanctions.  First, signal intelligence is the kind of "need to know" stuff that is handled very carefully (like in the movies carefully) and the second is even worse...Top Secret/SCI is the kind of information that is kept in a locked boxed is signed in and out, with witness signatures.  You don't get Top Secret/SCI for ordinary stuff, it's very serious information that has national implications, plus it's the kind of information that the President CANNOT make "un-secret".  It's not a paperwork thing it's just not in his purviews!

Why this is relevant is how this information could be used by Trump.  Now Trump is all about the money after the election he created a PAC that raised 250 million to investigate election irregularities and so far little of that money has been used for that instead Trump has made all kinds of payments to the unlikeliest people (his wife's dressmaker and Steve Bannon).  However, it has been implied that these documents could be used by Trump to ensure that the flow of cash from certain parties continues.  The story I read is that the signal stuff was about MBS/Saudi Arabia.

Will Trump go to prison for this? No.  Will he be investigated for this over the next three years? Yes absolutely.  This is why the right-wing Trunmposephere has stopped talking about this, they know its a nomination killer because ANY opponent will be able to say, "Mr. Trump, in 2018 you reinforced the secret documents laws after you found the behaviour of Mrs. Clinton criminal, you talked about it and you did the exact thing you said was criminal".  There was a key to Trump's political death, it was the willingness of the DOJ to go public, it means they had the goods, and they had even more than they hoped to obtain.  When they reviewed all the data from their January "raids" they knew some documents were missing (e.g. Top Secret/SCI) and they obviously had a source in Florida who had seen the document, and talked to the FBI.

I could be wrong, but if I was Desantis, I would use this to my full advantage.  "Trump cannot be trusted with our national secrets he broke the law, give me money make me your next president"!

UPDATE:  I've got a problem, Conrad Black believes that Trump will be President again, also that he was a great president!  I intensely dislike Conrad Black, but his political senses are unfortunately impeccable, especially with regards to our American cousins.  Maybe Teflon Trump will survive this latest salvo.  Personally, I think too many contenders for the job of President will be hard pressed not to use the latest scandal to sideline Trump, but I could be very wrong

Ok so I lied...a little (revised)

When we began looking at farming in 2013/14 as something we both wanted to do as a "second career" we invested time and money to understand what sector of farming was profitable.  A few things emerged, First, high-quality, source-proven, organic farm products consistently have much higher profit margins.  Secondly, transformation accounted for nearly 80% of total profits, and production and distribution accounted for 20% of profits: Farmers and retailers have low profit margins and the middle bits make all the money. A profitable farm operation needs to be involved in the transformation of its produce.  The low-hanging fruits: cheese and butter.  Milk, generates a profit margin of 5% to 8%, depending on milk quality.  Transformed into cheese and butter, and the profit margin rises to 40% (Taking into account all costs).  Second:  20% of a steer carcass is ground beef quality.  The price is low, because (a) a high percentage of the carcass, and (b) ground beef requires process

21st century milk parlour

When we first looked at building our farm in 2018, we made a few money-saving decisions, the most important is that we purchased our milk herd from a retiring farmer and we also purchased his milking parlour equipment.  It was the right decision at the time.  The equipment dates from around 2004/05 and was perfectly serviceable, our installers replaced some tubing but otherwise, the milking parlour was in good shape.  It is a mature technology. Now, we are building a brand new milk parlour because our milking cows are moving from the old farm to the new farm.  So we are looking at brand new equipment this time because, after 20 years of daily service, the old cattle parlour's systems need to be replaced.  Fear not it will not be destroyed instead good chunks will end up on Facebook's marketplace and be sold to other farmers for spare parts or expansion of their current systems. All our cattle are chipped, nothing unusual there, we have sensors throughout the farm, and our milki

So we sold surplus electricity one time last summer...(Update)

I guess that we will be buying an additional tank for our methane after all.   Over the past few months, we've had several electricity utilities/distributors which operate in our region come to the farm to "inspect our power plant facilities, to ensure they conform to their requirements".  This is entirely my fault.  Last summer we were accumulating too much methane for our tankage capacity, and so instead of selling the excess gas, that would have cost us some money, we (and I mean me) decided to produce excess electricity and sell it to the grid.  Because of all the rules and regulations, we had to specify our overall capacity and timing for the sale of electricity (our capacity is almost 200 Kw) which is a lot but more importantly, it's available 24/7, because it's gas powered.  It should be noted that the two generators are large because we burn methane and smaller generators are difficult to adapt to burn unconventional gas, plus they are advanced and can &qu
