For years The Saudis have insisted that oil be priced in US dollars, this was not a US demand it was convenient for the Saudis since the US dollar was stable, but it still is very stable...
However, there is very little trade between the US and Saudi Arabia, and what trade there is is mostly Saudis buying American stuff.
The Saudis don't want to price anything in the local currency so they are now accepting Euro and Yen and Remibi too. That helps the Chinese because they can just print the money. Ask the Russians what they have been doing with the Remimbis...nothing.
To think that the change from US dollars to other currencies is to misunderstand how the world of finance functions...granted they are probably the same people who say that crypto is a great investment and will take your head off about gold as the only real reserve currency. No one in fiance cares because discussing the Saudi's decision as some kind of blow to America's currency is to completely misunderstand what trade is about.
