I left the farm early this morning. As I walked into the office to get the truck keys David stood there, crutches and all. He looked at me and said, I could not sleep the condenser unit on the Case 7220 needs to be replaced. I said, how did you sneak out of the house, don't let Jennifer find you here she will kill you dead! We laughed but he still skipped back to his truck and went home. I would visit David on my way back to explain two things: how phones work and what we mean by medical leave.
Because my eldest daughter is stubborn, this morning I had to drive to Norwich for a heart test. There's nothing like getting on a treadmill for 15 minutes at 8 am. Still, my daughter is right, I have largely ignored my doctor's recommendations, and added half a stone in weight over the past five years. I think it's additional muscle mass, but we are going to find that out today, she also scheduled a full body fat analysis.
I am relatively certain that I am right, especially since two days ago my morning suit was loose at the waistline. Every day, I have between two and three hours of medium-intensity workouts. The week before Christmas I spent two days with the crew replacing fencing. Maybe not eight hours a day like the young guys, but still a few hours every day.
While in town, I took the opportunity to meet my portfolio manager. He manages all the family's assets including our children's and the various trusts we established. He also manages our charitable foundation, which we set up two years ago. I had never told him how I acquired all these Bitcoins. He was the one who liquidated the portfolio. He thought my blog was hilarious.
Since I was driving alone to the city, I left my SUV with the family. A good thing, because the return trip turned into a spare parts run. Normally, dealers deliver to the farm but they were having a problem with their delivery drivers today, so it was easier for me to pick things up. I was kind of happy because most of the parts were things I had ordered some weeks ago -- I am still nervous about our spare parts inventory. When I stopped at the Case dealer everything we had ordered was there, including the replacement for the busted condenser.
When I got back to the farm office and dropped the truck and spares, the farm was quiet. There are rarely product lorries on Friday. Jennifer was in her office (which used to be mine) there was even a box of my things that she said was too heavy to carry and that someone would deliver to the house later. From my brokerage days, I had three computer screens and Jennifer liked the setup and was evidently keeping it. She had a bunch of things to discuss. This list of topics was long so I suggested we do this over lunch at the house.
On returning home, I realized that I needed a real home office, the study is really a small living room with two large sofas and a fireplace, but no desk. The entire house was renovated and there is still unused space on the ground floor. There is a perfect room, it's long and narrow with tons of windows facing North (that's why it's empty), and it's slightly isolated from there rest of the house by a corridor. I needed to speak to my wife on her return. But that will be for later, the cook has prepared tomato soup and BLT sandwiches for me and Jennifer. We will sit in the kitchen and continue the conversation we had started in the office. Before you ask, her daughters left to spend the rest of the holidays with their father. that's probably why Jennifer was in the office not wanting to be home alone.
All this before 1 pm Friday. How time flies
