Donald Trump and the take over of the Republican Party

We forget now, but in 2015 when Trump rode down the golden escalator in Trump Tower (there's got to be some kind of biblical simili here!), the Republican party thought he was a joke candidate and during the first debate Trump won over the party's faithful (and a lot of other Americans) because he spoke unpleasant truths.   

Americans are not rule followers, it's why everything is codified to death, to make sure that there are no loopholes, so Trump who said, I made full use of the loophole was the first American candidate who stated clearly that he was smart enough to "screw the man".   

The takeover of the Republican party was probably for real Republicans a road down to hell over which they had no control and no ability to resist.  Six months ago when his daughter-in-law became the co-chair of the Republican National Committee his takeover was total.   ALL the money raised by the GOP goes to Trump, all of it.   The RNC Washington operations were decimated either because the people quit or were fired.   Rumours are that the RNC is trying to re-hire them, but it's difficult because the RNC is broke.  Trump got all the money!

Trump was successful not by what he said but rather how he said it.  All the other 9 candidates in 2015 had similar platforms but Trump did not use coded language, he said it outright, and he won not only the base but many Americans tired of the lies!   He still did nothing but party in the White House for four years.

However, if you don't like Trump at least you know he will stick to his guns.   Take Nikki Haley who said last week that she would vote for Trump:  either Trump has serious dirt on her, and she was forced to support him, which means she is exactly what everyone thinks she is or she is a craven cheap sold-out politician.  Either way, zero backbone and in 24 hours destroyed her entire political future...

We all know that Trump only works for Trump, but at least he's honest for it.   That's why he is still so popular, he's still sticking it to the man.   Americans respect that!

Note:  Personally, I think that Trump should be in jail!   The man got away with so much over so many decades.   Still, like Hitler, you got the respect the ability, even if you think the man is a terrible terrible person.  Also recognizing the ability of a demagog doesn't mean I support the man, but as a voter, you have to admit that the Right-wing demagogx are doing rather well in elections of late...

Donald Trump‘s bad bargain

 The entire of 2023 and 2024 when Donald Trump was running for the White House, his mantra was no war, that the Ukraine conflict would be resolved in a day, and that he would do everything not to involve America and war.
