Election = Money

 The fundraising activities of political parties is usually not very transparent in Europe or the UK, but one place where it is transparent is the United States.   The state of the race for the 2024 election is terrible for several local republican associations.  Many are close to bankruptcy, in some places (Colorado) its so bad that the Republicans may well have to move out of their Dever headquarters (for the state party).   The RNC at the national level is sucking in all the cash, and Donald Trump and his Save America PAC is sucking up the rest.   The vast majority of the money "raised" for Save America PAC is used to pay for Donald Trump's massive legal bills -- these lawyers that have sold their souls have done it for serious coins.

The impact is easy to predict unless things change and the likelihood of that happening is near zero.   in 2007 when Barack Obama took control of the Democratic party he too got all the money.  It worked out great for him, but at the local level, it was a disaster for the Democrats.   We could easily see a repetition here in 2024 but this time it would be the Republicans.

Now not every woman in America is a single-issue voters, and many will vote for the GOP because, still the issue before the voters are:

  • National ban on abortion
  • National ban on abortion pills
  • Registration of all women who are pregnant
  • Massive control over contraceptive pills (state objective is to make it illegal)
today in the USA, 74% of Americans are for the right to abortion before 15 weeks (which by the way is 97% of all abortions)
the leader of the GOP is a liar accused of stealing state secrets possibly to enrich himself and has almost certainly slept with women out of wedlock (The stormy Daniels salacious evidence seems to confirm this).  How "Christian" women support such a man and a party will require a lot of publicity.   These things can only be done by the parties themselves, PACs cannot do such a thing, and it is illegal for them to do so.

It also shows another massive problem for the GOP, failure to raise money.   The party is broke in an election year they knew was coming four years ago!   This indicates that the financial support for the GOP has fallen apart.   Because of the US fundraising system for political parties, the data is available on a monthly basis, and the data is terrible for the GOP, over the past year the money has dried up entirely.   This is not entirely surprising considering that big business and the neocon are no longer welcomed.   Big oil considered Trump's $1 billion request, but if the Democrats win, they will seek 10x that amount in green credits.   A new administration could force energy companies to clean up their environmental messes.

For the GOP is playing with fire in the person of Donal Trump and they just don't know what to do about the man.  Donald Trump is an albatross around the GOP's neck!  They know it too!

Ok so I lied...a little (revised)

When we began looking at farming in 2013/14 as something we both wanted to do as a "second career" we invested time and money to understand what sector of farming was profitable.  A few things emerged, First, high-quality, source-proven, organic farm products consistently have much higher profit margins.  Secondly, transformation accounted for nearly 80% of total profits, and production and distribution accounted for 20% of profits: Farmers and retailers have low profit margins and the middle bits make all the money. A profitable farm operation needs to be involved in the transformation of its produce.  The low-hanging fruits: cheese and butter.  Milk, generates a profit margin of 5% to 8%, depending on milk quality.  Transformed into cheese and butter, and the profit margin rises to 40% (Taking into account all costs).  Second:  20% of a steer carcass is ground beef quality.  The price is low, because (a) a high percentage of the carcass, and (b)...

Spray painting Taylor Swift G650 aircraft (updated)

 First, a bit of paint will not harm anyone.  These climate activities are going to learn two things in the next few days:  (1) Trespassing at an airport is a felony almost anywhere in the world.  That means criminal prosecution.   (2) removing paint from an aircraft is expensive.   So these climate activists are about to find out the reach of the British criminal system and it will not be pleasant, the UK has very strict laws about that, I would be surprised if cleaning the aircraft of all the paint will cost less than $100,000.     I am sure that when they planned (premeditation) this little show they had a very valid logic to doing this.  Tonight, they are probably realizing the depth of their troubles.   I understand that in the UK it's a minimum one-year jail sentence.    Also, good luck travelling with a criminal trespass charge against you.  I am relatively certain that the airline industry will ...

Janet Yellen from China supporter to Hawk...

There is rarely serious news in the world these days, it seems that most newspapers are filled with headlines and little else, and then Ms Yellen went to China.  Secretary Yellen has long been known in the Biden administration as the voice of moderation when dealing with China, yet as her trip which concluded yesterday a hawk was born:  She warned the Chinese against dumping goods in the United States.    fighting words! The American administration is very concerned about the lack of Chinese domestic consumption.   Even before the COVID-19 epidemic, there were already the beginning signs of a slowdown, automobile sales were off.   China is facing domestic deflation (a clear sign of collapsing demand) China imports few consumer goods, they import raw materials and intermediary goods.   It seems that the American administration is concerned that the Chinese administration will dump consumer goods abroad to keep its manufacturing machinery ...
