Standing before 10 Downing Street to make an announcement is usually reserved for a major shift or set piece. Announcing the dissolution of parliament for example -- a precursor to launching an election. Yesterday, the entire Media expected the Prime Minister to address the nation to call an election. Instead, we got a big nothing the more interesting was the acknowledgement that George Calloway was returning to parliament as a member of Labour.
For those who don't know Calloway has been a pro-Palestinian anti-Jew firebrand for a long time. He was elected against the wishes of the Labour Party. George's biggest problem is that in the past he stood alone, now his voice is drowned out by the outrage of the many. in other words, he's irrelevant, just when he won his argument.
As for Sunak, this was another epic fail. Something was to be announced but he had to back down at the last minute. Not on the scale of Rudy Giuliani's televised speech in the car park of Four Seasons Total Landscaping (google it), but in the neighbourhood.
